Angelina Jolie marked her son Maddox’s 18th birthday by taking a trip to Cleveland on August 5th. During their visit, Angelina, who recently wrote a impactful essay for Elle magazine’s September issue, wore a stylish light brown dress while Maddox opted for a casual look in a t-shirt and baseball cap. The pair met up with their longtime friend, Loung Ung, the author of “First They Killed My Father” which inspired Angelina’s film adaptation in 2017, for a meal while exploring the city.
Loung recently took to Facebook to share her wonderful day reuniting with Angelina and Maddox. They kicked things off with a delicious lunch at Market Garden Brewpub, followed by a visit to Ohio City Farm/The Refugee Response Program and the Cleveland Museum of Art. Loung reminisced about meeting Maddox when he was just a little one, and now he’s all grown up at eighteen and heading off to college. How time flies! She ended her post with birthday wishes for Maddox and shared some cute snapshots of the dynamic duo enjoying their day out with friends and new acquaintances. What a special and memorable day for everyone involved!
Angelina, who is also the mother of 14-year-old Zahara, 13-year-olds Shiloh and Pax, and 11-year-olds Vivienne and Knox from her previous marriage to Brad Pitt, will be saying goodbye to her son Maddox as he heads off to college this month. Maddox will be attending Yonsei University in South Korea to pursue a degree in biochemistry. According to a source, Angelina will be dropping him off in August and is incredibly proud of him. Although she will miss him dearly, she knows he is ready for this new chapter in his life.
